Biography

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Utah State University. I received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University, where I was a member of SNMS laboratory led by Professor Guan-Hua Tu, in 2023. Prior that, I received the B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering With Honor from Michigan State University in 2016 Fall. My research interests are in the broad areas of security, IoT, mobile computing, mobile networks and systems, secure cloud computing/services, blockchain technologies, and data analysis.

• Our 911 security paper received the Best Community Paper Award Runner-Up at ACM MobiCom’22.
• Tian received 2022 Dissertation Completion Fellowship.
• Nov. 2019, Our Voice over Wi-Fi security research receives a Google Security Reward.
• Tian received 2019 Graduate Office Fellowship (GOF).
• Our Wi-Fi Calling paper won IEEE CNS’18 Best Paper Award.
• Tian won a travel grant to 2018 IEEE Conference on Communications and Network Security (CNS).
